Councillors met virtually on Zoom for the final time at the meeting of Epping Forest District Council on 29 April
Council holds final Zoom meeting
All councils return to physical face to face meetings following the local elections on 6 May. The first post-Covid meeting of the Council on 25 May will also signal the return of councillors to the newly refurbished Civic Offices.
Elections 2021
Elections scheduled but postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic in May 2020 are due to be held this year. Councillors recognised fellow members Brian Sandler, Maggie McEwen, Debra Roberts and Amy Beales who are not seeking re-election. Councillors John Knapman, Gavin Chambers and Gagan Mohindra are also leaving the council. Members remembered Councillor Syd Stavrou who sadly passed away last year.
Reports brought to council
There were also many warm words for the former Technical Services Director, Qasim ‘Kim’ Durrani. After many years of dedicated service to the members and residents of the district, Mr Durrani is now taking up a new senior position in the London Borough of Bexley.
Following reflections on a most unusual year, councillors turned to the regular business of the Council including the reports of portfolio holders, questions, the new calendar of meetings for 2021/22 and the quarterly Qualis monitoring report.
