A new blog site is launched with lot of videos to help you keep active.
Museum Movers is a dance project devised by Epping Forest District Council’s Community, Culture and Wellbeing team and supported using public funding by Arts Council England, to remind people that dance is accessible to all.
Do try this at home
We encourage you all to get involved, dance is for everyone.
There are over 30 bite-size films to inspire you and help keep your bodies and brains active, especially during lockdown. You can copy what the instructor is doing or use the videos as inspiration for your own movements.
The blog is spilt into 3 different age groups with videos more suited to their needs.
- Little movers: for babies and toddlers
- Middle movers: primary and secondary school pupils
- Mighty movers: adults, particularly those with limited mobility
Museum Movers project
The programme was originally planned to be delivered at Epping Forest District Museum as group activities but, due to Covid-19 restrictions has been developed into a digital project we are encouraging you to do at home.
The museum’s collection was used as inspiration for each dance routine and we can’t wait to invite you back into the museum to see the objects we used, when it is safe to do so.
Dance is for everyone
Get involved with Museum Movers and share your photos or videos of you trying out our exercises.
Festival of Culture
We’ve launched the blog as part of the first Epping Forest District Festival of Culture, which started in January 2021.
The festival runs until Saturday 17 April 2021. It provides a platform for diverse, community-led cultural activities across the district.
