Top up grants for creative projects are being offered to small local businesses trading in the creative, cultural or digital sector.
It is a welcome boost at this difficult time.
The grants are available through South East Creatives, an organisation supported by local organisations funded through the European Development Fund.
Grants cover 35% of the cost of the project – the smallest grant being £1,000 … and the good news is that the grants are not repayable.
Boost for creative businesses
Councillor Holly Whitbread, Cabinet member for Community said:
This could provide a great boost for small creative businesses in the Epping Forest district.
It’s been a difficult time for all businesses and this is an excellent example of how to help them back on their feet. A grant could help with perhaps bringing forward plans for some new equipment that they couldn’t quite afford or buying in expertise to help increase their customer base.
Purchases made within 3 months
Purchases must be made within 3 months of confirmation of the grant, and evidence must be provided that money has been spent on exactly what the application stated.
Not everything is eligible for funding, but here’s a few examples of what is: Specialist equipment or training, specialist consultancy, taking on office space for the first time or trade/consumer shows space costs and stand build.
