Harlow Council is looking to recruit an Economic Development Advisor (UK Innovation Corridor’s Central Zone Alliance) to work on a two year fixed term contract.
The UK’s Innovation Corridor linking London to Cambridge is one of the world’s leading regions for life sciences and technology. The Central Zone Alliance (CZA) (Broxbourne Borough, East Herts District, Epping Forest District, Essex County, Harlow, Hertfordshire County and Uttlesford District Councils) is part of this corridor and is one of its greatest assets and is a zone of outstanding potential and opportunity. The Alliance is looking for a dynamic economic development professional to drive forward and lead the partners in preparing and delivering an economic development strategy for the CZA and to work with the local authorities and others partners to secure investment and support for economic growth activities.
The CZA is a well-established partnership looking to build on its unique potential and continue its success in bringing jobs and growth to the CZA area. Reporting directly to the Director of the London Stansted Cambridge Consortium, you will work closely with colleagues in the CZA to ensure that the Zone has a high profile and is successful in delivering economic prosperity for the local and surrounding community.
Candidates could have a variety of professional backgrounds such as regeneration and economic development, and inward investment, planning and infrastructure.
You will have an outstanding track record in negotiating and, partnership working to drive forward our ambitious agenda.
