About the job
We are looking to recruit 3 x full time Revenues/Benefits Customer Service Assistants to work with our team in Revenues. The posts are fixed-term 12-month contracts. Please note that 1 vacancy is available now and the other 2 will be vacant from 1 April.
Whilst you are not required to have Local Taxation/Benefit experience and knowledge it would be of benefit for you to have some knowledge of Council Tax, Benefits and/or Business Rates. More importantly, you will be required to demonstrate that you are a good communicator, with a desire to work in a customer-focussed environment.
You should possess five GCSE’s or equivalent, at Grade ‘C’ or above, including English and Mathematics.
If successful, you will work as part of a busy Revenues section, under the direction of the Revenues Manager, with a particular emphasis on dealing in an efficient and effective manner with customer’s, telephone calls, emails and other correspondence relating to Benefit enquiries and registration, billing and collection of Local Taxation. You will also be required to deal with enquiries from the public at the Revenues/Benefits reception
