A minute’s silence will be held across the UK later to commemorate the key workers who have died with coronavirus.
Reflection and thanks
Cllr Richard Bassett Chairman of Council said:
Many of us have made sacrifices over the last few weeks. However, no one has done more than those key workers in the NHS and other support services who have lost their lives in the battle against the coronavirus.
These are unusual times. National moments of commemoration are usually a time when people come together in mutual support and recognition for those we have lost. While we cannot stand physically together, we can reach out in a brief moment of reflection and thanks for those who have paid the ultimate price on our behalf.
All councillors, colleagues and residents, wherever you are and whatever you may be doing, are therefore invited to pause briefly at 11am to join the national minute of silence in remembrance of those key workers who have lost their lives.
