Epping Forest District Festival of Culture

Epping Forest District Council Festival of Culture 2021

The first Epping Forest District Council Festival of Culture kicks off this month.

It runs until 17 April and provides a platform for diverse, community led cultural activities across the district.

Events during the coming months encompass a photography competition, music, drama, dance, art, crafts, history, horticulture and much more. There’s even a Funky Fruit Art Wildlife Workshop for the youngsters.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition cancelled

The focus for the festival was to have been the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition scheduled to take place at Epping Forest District Museum between January and April.

Coronavirus and lockdown forced its cancellation, but a decision was taken to go ahead with other elements of the festival.

What’s on

The first event is Wildlife of Copped Hall and Surrounding Areas by Dr Peter Warne. It takes place on Thursday 28 January at 7pm via Zoom.

Peter is a retired biologist who has found new purpose in tracking the flora and fauna of the area and recording their presence with his photographs which have on several occasions been commended at county and national level. These photographs will form the visual background to his talk.

This event is part of an online wildlife talk series being hosted by Epping Forest District Museum.

Bookings for this and other talks and activities can be made online via Bookinglive:
