New tree planted in Roydon by pre-schoolers as part of National Tree Week.
Planting at Parkfields
Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) joined Roydon Pre-School on Thursday 2 December 2021, in planting a new tree at Parkfields in Roydon.
Children, parents, and staff from the pre-school gathered in the cold and windy weather to plant a new cherry tree.
With the help from EFDC staff, staff from Gristwood and Toms and Rev. Richard Attew from St Peter-ad-Vincula Church the children learnt about how to care for the tree and the important part trees play to our environment.
The tree was donated by the Woodland Trust and the St Peter-ad-Vincula Church.
National Tree Week
The planting of the cherry tree fell in the middle of National Tree Week; the UK’s largest annual tree celebration, which ran from Saturday 27 November to Sunday 5 December.
