North Weald Airfield will reopen at 8:30am on the 16 May for fixed wing flying.

The Department for Transport has lifted the restrictions on General Aviation subject to social distancing measures being in place.

Solo flights

The Department for Transport (DfT) has lifted restrictions for solo flights unless flying with someone from the same household.

The DfT has set out social distance measures and risk assessments to ensure the safety for yourself and others whilst on the ground and in the air.

Helicopter Operations

Helicopter Operations have never stopped with the 2 NPAS ( Police helicopters) flying out of normal airfield hours and the Air Ambulance flying until dark.
