Park longer for less in our car parks from Monday 15 June.
Next week sees the start of practical measures to kickstart the recovery of our high streets and district economy as we move into recovery and out of lockdown.
Park for 20p
To support the return to normality, we are providing a temporary promotional change to parking tariffs in our car parks. From Monday the 20p rate will be extended to 2 hours and 30 minutes – providing 2 hours additional parking at the cheapest rate.
Drivers MUST pay and display a 20p ticket or they may receive a Penalty Charge Notice. Owing to system limitations this new tariff only applies to cash transactions. MiPermit users must still pay the normal rates or use the promotional cash option.
If you are parking for more than 2 hours and 30 minutes standard tariffs apply.
Encourage shoppers back
Leader of Council Cllr Chris Whitbread said:
Long-term, everyone’s wellbeing and livelihood depends on getting business back on its feet.
This is just one of the measures we are introducing to encourage shoppers back to our local high streets.
Epping Forest District Council supports local business and we will continue to do everything we can to help regenerate the local economy.
Now is the time for all of us to pull together as never before to put our district, economy and our country back on its feet.
Look out for other measures around social distancing, hand hygiene, removal of railings to create more space and introduction of planters and seating to create safe division between pedestrians and cars.
Find a pay and display car park
You can park in any one of our 20 pay and display car parks in the district.
