Residents are invited to the Proclamation of the new King on Sunday 11 September.
The Chairman of Epping Forest District Council, Cllr Mary Sartin will give the formal Proclamation for the district, outside the Council Offices, Epping.

Parking on-site at the Civic Offices is limited; anyone wishing to attend is encouraged to use the car parks in Barker’s Lane or the temporary site in St. John’s Road or use other means of transport.
The Proclamation of the new Sovereign
The Proclamation of the new Sovereign will take place on Saturday 10 September at St James’s Palace in London, to be repeated on Sunday 11 September in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
These will be followed by local county, district and parish proclamations including the formal Proclamation to the People of the District of Epping Forest of the beginning of the new King’s reign.
Flags will remain at half-mast until 11am on Proclamation Day when they will be raised to coincide with the reading of the Principal Proclamation. Flags will be lowered again to half-mast on the following day and remain lowered until the day following the funeral.
As the Country enters a period of mourning, non-essential events are expected to be cancelled or postponed.
Letters and Book of Condolence
Letters of condolence may be sent to the new Sovereign’s Private Secretary asking that condolences be passed to the new Sovereign.
Online books of condolence will be opened on council websites.
A physical book of condolence is also to be opened to members of the public at the Civic Offices, High Street, Epping between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
