Qualis Commercial are holding a community engagement exhibition in September to get feedback on proposals for 5 sites in Epping.
Public exhibition
As part of its initial stage of engagement with the local community, Qualis Commercial is encouraging residents and those who work in Epping to view and provide feedback on the suggested proposals for its 5 sites in Epping at a public exhibition.
The exhibition will be held for 6 days at St John’s Church, St John’s Road in Epping:
- Monday 7 September to Friday 11 September – 10am to 4pm
- Saturday 12 September – 10am to 1pm
Visitors will get the chance to meet the team and share views and opinions.
Deliver the quality services that residents deserve
Following the exhibition, information from both the event and the Commonplace consultation platform will be used to inform the designs further development. Once further detailed plans are available these will be updated onto the consultation platform. A second exhibition will be held in the Autumn giving further opportunity to comment, prior to the planning applications being submitted.
Qualis Commercial’s suggested proposals show new homes being built around green spaces on the St Johns Road site, the Conder Building and car park at The Civic Centre and the Epping Sports Centre sites, with the Bakers Lane site being used specifically for a new leisure centre including a new swimming pool and Cottis Lane site providing car parking and other uses such as retail, offices, a new cinema and hotel to complement the established High Street. The location of these new facilities will potentially also create increased footfall to the High Street and generate a real energy for the walkable town centre.
Epping High Street remains the civic heart of the Epping Forest district as it has been for decades and will continue to be so. Qualis Commercial will deliver quality sites that are considerate of the heritage of the area and create cohesive communities. Unlike other developers who keep any profits made, Qualis will reinvest profits back to Epping Forest District Council so that they can continue to develop council housing, keep council tax low and deliver the quality services that residents deserve.

Qualis Commercial is the development arm of Qualis Group, with the common purpose to enhance the district through regeneration, investment and asset management to support community needs.
Commonplace consultations
There are currently 2 separate Commonplace consultation platforms running in the Epping Forest area.
Working together for Epping
This site is for residents, stakeholders and businesses to make comments and leave feedback on the 5 identified sites in Epping for redevelopment which are being regenerated by Qualis Group. It is an independent platform that truly captures qualitive data that can be used to inform the designs as they progress.
All comments are verified, but respondents can be confident they can provide their personal thoughts and comments without personal data being made public. This allows an opportunity for those who wouldn’t normally comment in a public arena to have the confidence to voice their aspirations.
Safer spaces COVID-19
Epping Forest District Council has launched a separate consultation to allow people to identify areas that need support to provide safer spaces post COVID-19.
