If there’s an election before Christmas make sure you are registered to vote.
Around 5,500 households in the district have so far failed to respond to this year’s Household Enquiry Forms(HEF) sent out in July and August. A third form has just been sent out.
It is essential everyone is registered to vote as it can affect your ability to get a mortgage, loan or even a mobile phone contract! Also, if there’s another Parliamentary election/EU Referendum soon and you’re not registered you will NOT be able to vote.
Even if there are no changes to your details you MUST confirm this or tell us about any changes. 90% of households in the district have responded to the form with many adding names of people who need to be registered.
If you have access to the internet, landline or a mobile phone then please respond online, by phone or by text to the Household Enquiry Form as soon as possible and by 24 October at the latest.
It’s simpler, clearer and faster online or by phone, using the 2-part security code on the front of the form.
This year it’s even easier to access the website by using the QR code on the front of the form. Just open the camera on your mobile phone and hover over the code for a couple of seconds – it will take you directly to the household response website.
Hand delivering reminders cost the council around £20,000 last year, money which could have been spent on public services to our residents. Hand delivering forms to our office might save postage but means we still have to scan and process them! So please help us to save money and conduct this important process more effectively.
By law, each household MUST respond so please do it NOW.
