Socialising in our local cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs is welcome news for businesses and residents alike.
It brings a much needed boost to the local economy in the Epping Forest district.
With just over a week to go before such businesses can legally open their doors to customers, a taskforce of council officers is out on the streets contacting as many hospitality outlets as possible, helping them understand the new guidelines for post coronavirus (COVID-19) operations.
Safer spaces
Safer spaces – the council-led programme to help kickstart the local economy – has prepared rebuild and recovery guidance and needs to get it to all hospitality businesses registered with the council, as quickly as possible.
Boost hospitality and local businesses
Leader of Council Cllr Chris Whitbread said:
We welcome the Government’s changes announced this week which is a boost to hospitality and local businesses.
Long-term, everyone’s wellbeing and livelihood depends on getting business back on its feet, but limiting the spread of coronavirus is key to that success. We want to do everything in our power to support local hospitality businesses in reopening next month.
Email, leaflets and the website information will supplement the on-street taskforce and we’ll also be boosting the message with social media in our determination to support every cafe, bar, restaurant and pub across the district.
