A scheme to help residents save on energy costs by having solar panels fitted is being promoted by Essex County Council.
Leaflets backing the scheme are currently dropping through letterboxes across Essex with details of how to get involved.
Solar panels at affordable prices
Solar Together Essex is as a county-wide collective purchasing scheme to help residents, small businesses and small community buildings purchase high quality solar panels at an affordable price from trusted suppliers.
Battery storage is also available under the scheme. This saves unused energy generated by solar panels, meaning that people can use energy whenever they want, rather than just during the day, further cutting their energy bills.
Greener and brighter future
Councillor Ken Williamson, Cabinet Member for Technical Services welcomed the scheme saying:
Solar panels are an intelligent investment, helping residents save money on their future energy bills and be less reliant on energy suppliers. It can also be an effective way of reducing carbon emissions.
Solar panels are one way of contributing to a greener and brighter future for us all by helping to bring down greenhouse gasses.
