Easter is not going to be normal this year! Stay at home – protect the NHS – save lives.
Let’s face it none of us have lived through times like this before. It’s crucial we take notice of advice to stay home and observe social distancing when not at home for essential reasons.
Do not go outside your local area
This weekend do not go outside your local area to exercise.
Both Epping Forest and Lee Valley Regional Park are beautiful, welcoming and tranquil places to enjoy, particularly on Bank Holidays. But this Easter unless you live nearby and can walk to them, don’t go – full stop!
Car parks and roads closed
In Epping Forest car parks and selected roads are closed and Forest Keepers and police will be patrolling to turn people travelling by car away.
‘No Parking’ signs are being erected along Forest verges and will be enforced by Forest Keepers working with Essex Police and Epping Forest District Council Officers. Reminders about social distancing have been posted at every gate and main entrance to the forest for those who are legitimately able to walk or cycle there for exercise purposes.
Lee Valley Regional Park has closed all its car parks this Bank Holiday weekend and on all future weekends and Bank Holidays until further notice.
This is short-term pain for long-term gain … please stay home and stay safe.
