As the weather is set to improve this weekend, we are asking residents to still follow the Government guidelines about staying at home.
Epping Forest District Council Leader, Councillor Chris Whitbread said:
Please refrain from travelling further afield for your daily exercise as the warmer weather arrives. Stick to your immediate local area and explore what is around you. Do not travel unnecessarily, leave the car at home.
We are increasing patrols around our parks and open spaces to ensure people are not gathering for leisure and entertainment.
Powers to disperse
Be warned the police have powers to disperse and even fine people for not observing government advice.
Social distance to save lives
You should still be social distancing from anyone you do not live with when out exercising; make room when passing on pathway and keep at least two metres away from anyone not in your household.
Please follow Government guidance on accessing green spaces.
Stay at home
Remember stay at home:
- Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (where this absolutely cannot be done from home)
- Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
- Wash your hands as soon as you get home
