We have secured £72k funding for the coming 2 years to help get vulnerable homeless people into work.
Changing Futures
The money is part of the Government’s Changing Futures programme. It will fund a specialist Job Coach in the district to engage with homeless clients who are experiencing multiple disadvantage such as substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse and contact with the criminal justice system.
Working with a host of partners, in particular the Essex Anchor Network, Essex County Council Targeted Employment Team and our own Housing Needs Team, individual tailored support will be provided to help clients access employment opportunities. These will include learning new skills to improve access and support to move towards and into sustainable employment.
Specialist job coach
Phoenix Futures, Citizens Advice Bureau, CHESS, Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and other partners will identify people with multiple disadvantages, and ensure they can have access to and receive support from the specialist job coach.
The Changing Futures programme is a joint initiative between the Government and The National Lottery Community Fund. It is administered in Essex through Essex County Council.
