Come along to Epping Forest District Museum to see how year 8 students from King Harold Business & Enterprise Academy, transform the museum as part of Takeover Day.
Where: Epping Forest District Museum, 39 – 41 Sun Street, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1EL
When: Wednesday 20 November
Time: 11am – 3pm
FREE entry
The students will be giving tours around the museum as well as running short activities. Over the last two months a small group of year 8 students have worked with museum staff to go behind the scenes and learn what it takes to run a museum for the day.
They have themed their take over around climate change, linking it to the current Ice Age exhibition; they will compare this natural occurrence of climate change with the present day situation.
Takeover Day
Takeover Day is a national celebration (created by Kids in Museums) of young people’s contributions to museums, galleries, arts organisations, archives and heritage sites. It’s a day on which they work alongside staff and volunteers to participate in the life of the organisation or venue.
