As the colder weather sets in, our social spaces change into warm places.
Warm places
Warm places started in 2022 to provide a free, safe, warm and comfortable space for those who need it throughout winter. Their success continued to offer a welcoming space throughout the spring and summer months for residents to meet old friends and make new ones, play games and get access to different services.
Find a warm place
There are many warm places across the district, with some venues offering refreshments, activities such as board games and free Wifi.
Welcoming and safe environment
Councillor Kaz Rizvi, Cabinet Member for Community, Health and Wellbeing said:
I am so pleased that our warm places are reopening. Their success the last few years has shown how valued and needed this initiative is. Thank you to those dedicated people at each venue who continue to provide an extra service for those in need throughout the colder months.
Warm places are not just about a physical space. They offer a welcoming and safe environment where people can connect with others who understand that the pressures to heat a home is often more than just financial.
