Chief Executives and leaders came together on White Ribbon Day to discuss the Violence Against Women and Girls campaign.
Epping Forest District Council Chief Executive Georgina Blakemore took part in the event and took the pledge on behalf of the district.
White Ribbon is a global campaign which encourages everyone, particularly men and boys, to individually and collectively take action and change behaviours and culture that leads to abuse and violence against women and girls.
Raising awareness
Anthea Sully, Chief Executive of White Ribbon UK said:
White Ribbon Accredited organisations are able to make a real difference. By raising awareness among employees, people can learn how to become allies and call out violent and abusive behaviour when they see it, at work and in the wider community.
Georgina Blakemore, Chief Executive of Epping Forest District Council added:
There is no place in society for violence against women and girls and working with partners such as Essex Police we are determined to tackle this issue.
