Epping Forest Youth Council introduce their next project, MiLife C19 to address young people’s health and wellbeing with a new film.
MiLife COVID-19 Launch
MiLife C19 is about giving young people what they need to build their emotional resilience, especially during the Covid pandemic.
The project will include a website with information about COVID-19 and resources, tips and coping mechanisms to support wellbeing.
School workshops
There will also be a series of fun, informative and exciting workshops delivered to secondary school pupils across the Epping Forest district from March 2021. These workshops will give the students the tools they need to build their resilience ad help with look after their mental health.
#YourSay survey
The MiLife C19 project has been devised from the findings of the youth council’s COVID-19 health and wellbeing survey, #YourSay.
The findings were presented to Cabinet members in October 2020; where it was agreed that the award winning MiLife project would be developed further to include a mental health and wellbeing section.
Mental health and wellbeing of young people
Cabinet Member, Councillor Holly Whitbread said:
This new wellbeing section will be a great addition to the MiLife project. I’m so thankful to the youth council for bringing the mental health and wellbeing of our young people to our attention; and proud of them for developing their own questions and concerns around wellbeing to create various tools to support their peers across the district.
