Public consultation on the Waltham Abbey North (WAN) Strategic Masterplan Framework was approved by cabinet on Monday 21 July 2025.
The consultation will take place over 8 weeks from 22 July until 16 September 2025.

Following several meetings with stakeholders and developers I am pleased to announce the next stage of the Waltham Abbey North Strategic Masterplan Framework is to start.
This masterplan is crucial to the long-term development of Waltham Abbey, by managing growth, attracting investment, and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents. The site was allocated as part of our local plan in 2023 which provided us with a framework for future developments in the district, guiding decisions on where and how land should be used.
We have 2 public exhibition events at Waltham Abbey Leisure Centre on 30 July and 6 August, both from 3pm to 8pm, where you can ask us questions about the masterplan.
I urge residents, businesses and visitors to spend time to read and complete this consultation. We want to know what people think so we make sure the final masterplan fits the needs and aspirations of the community.
