Land drainage consent
If you wish to undertake work on a watercourse then you need permission from the appropriate authority.
This depends on whether the watercourse is classed as a
- Main River
- or an Ordinary Watercourse
If the watercourse is classed as Main River you need to apply for consent from the Environment Agency.
The District Land Drainage bye-laws state that formal agreement must be granted for any works to or within eight metres of an ordinary watercourse.
If the work you are proposing requires land drainage consent fill in an application form
