Apply for communal key or fob replacements for customers living in flats
To request a key or fob you will need to be an EFDC council tenant or leaseholder living in a communal block with a door entry key system. If you are a sheltered housing tenant please contact your Scheme Officer in the first instance.
Lost your key or fob?
All tenants are provided with 2 keys or fobs at the start of their tenancy. If you have lost, misplaced or if you need a new key or fob, you can order a new one through the form. You are limited to a maximum of 3 keys or fobs using this form.

The cost of replacing lost or misplaced keys or fobs are shown in the table below. All defective or broken keys or fobs are replaced free of charge. However, the original must be returned to us when you collect your new one.

Collecting new keys or fobs
To collect your keys, you will have to provide 2 pieces of identification – 1 photographic and 1 containing your address – that you must upload online during the application process. You must bring the same identification with you on your collection day.
If you are unable to collect the key(s) yourself, you may send a representative to do so, but they will need to provide identification for themselves as well as you.
Suitable forms of identification include:
- Driving license
- Passport
- National Identity Photocard
- Council Tax bill
- Tenancy agreement
- Utility bill
If at any point during this process we are not satisfied with any of the identification provided, we reserve the right to reject the application and will process a refund of any monies paid in full within 5 working days.
