Safer streets projects

Find out about our safer streets projects and how you can get involved.

The 2-year project aimed to improve the environment, safety and health and wellbeing of residents living in the Ninefields area in Waltham Abbey.

The area suffers from anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping and drug offences.

To tackle these the project will focused on:

  • Reducing environmental crime
  • Increasing CCTV in the area
  • Improving the security of buildings and bin stores
  • Promoting long term community involvement

The 1-year project aims to improve the environment, safety and health and wellbeing of residents living in the Oakwood Hill estate in Loughton.

A recent survey with the residents of the estate, highlighted concerns about anti-social behaviour, lack of CCTV, and poor lighting in the area.

As a result, the 1-year project will focus on:

  • Increasing CCTV in the area
  • Improving lighting
  • Creating a safer environment for residents
  • Promoting health and wellbeing within the community
