Ongar neighbourhood plan referendum

A referendum will be held on Thursday 8 September 2022 to decide whether local electors want Epping Forest District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Ongar to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area.

On 18 July 2022 the council resolved that the Ongar neighbourhood plan (as modified) should proceed to referendum on 8 September 2022. Neighbourhood planning referendums are conducted following procedures which are similar to those used at local government elections and it is the responsibility of Epping Forest District Council to organise the referendum for a neighbourhood plan. A notice of referendum will be published at least 25 working days before the day of the referendum.
