During the Easter holidays, the Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) Community Development and Wellbeing team hosted a series of Play in the Park sessions drawing in nearly 500 attendees over the course of 14 sessions.
Children enjoyed engaging in activities such as tennis, badminton, football, Connect 4, bike riding, and playing with Lego.
The sessions took place in Loughton, Buckhurst Hill, Waltham Abbey, Epping, Ongar, Roydon, North Weald, and Abridge. Participants also had the opportunity to receive free bike health checks from Essex County Council’s Dr Bike team at select sessions in Waltham Abbey and Loughton, which was well-received by attendees.
Additionally, arts and crafts activities were offered along with a colouring competition where participants had the chance to win a children’s bike at the Ford RideLondon-Essex Epping Community Fete on Sunday 26 May.
