New photograph exhibition opens at Epping Forest District Museum.
Epping Forest District Museum has over 6,000 photographs in its collection. Many of these amazing images show snapshots of life in the district dating back to the 1870s. They cover a variety of subjects, including towns and villages, people, events, and industry.
See how your town has changed
The latest exhibition, Towns Through Time, shows a small selection of these photographs focussing on the district’s towns.
Each image provides a glimpse into the lives of these communities, where people lived, worked, shopped, and spent their free time. Some towns have hardly changed, while others have grown considerably.
Visitors are encouraged to share their own memories of living and/or working in the district, which may help provide more information about what is in the photographs.
