Our social spaces are transforming back into warm places from Monday 6 November.
Warm places
Warm places started in 2022 to provide a free, safe, warm and comfortable space for those who need it throughout winter. Several venues continued to offer a welcoming space through the spring and summer months for residents to meet old friends and make new ones, play games and get access to different services.
Find a warm place
Warm places are opening up across the district, with some venues offering refreshments, activities such as board games and free WiFi.
Reduce loneliness and isolation
Councillor Smruti Patel, Cabinet Member for Community, Health and Wellbeing said:
I am so pleased that our warm places are opening again.
The success for last year, and the transition into social spaces during the summer, has shown how valued this initiative is. Each venue not only provides a physical place for residents who are feeling extra pressure to heat their homes but also offers a friendly, comforting and safe space and help reduce social isolation.
