Waltham Abbey Police historical collection
The museum is fortunate to have an extensive collection of objects formerly housed at the local police station. It was developed and curated part time by serving officers.
Much of the collection relates to the former Waltham Abbey Police Station on Sun Street and the Metropolitan Police ‘J’ Division which covered Walthamstow, Chingford, Loughton, and Chigwell from 1933 to 1986.
For further historical information on policing in the area, please contact historian Bryn Elliott.
