We rely on your support to continue the work we do and keep the museum entry free of charge.
Every donation, big or small, helps us to care and preserve local history for the future.
- A £5 donation could help fund history resources for a local school pupil
- A £10 donation could help pay towards local older people’s workshops or a session for babies and their carers
- A £20 donation could help fund the conservation and preservation of our historic artefacts

Volunteer
Join our committed team of volunteers who are essential in making the museum a fun and welcoming place to be.
Volunteer to help with:
- Welcoming people
- Learning sessions
- Stewarding a temporary exhibition
- Cataloguing collections
- Digitising records
- Transcribing oral histories
- Packing item for storage
- Restoring items for display
- Gardening

Wellness and Wellies
Volunteer with the Wellness and Wellies team to help nurture the museum’s garden. Sessions are every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm. No previous experience is necessary.
Gardening is great for your physical and mental health, so join us to sow, grow, dig and learn as part of an amazing team of volunteers. Perfect for those who have no garden but would like one.
