An unoccupied property where the person who paid the Council Tax has passed away. There must be no joint owners or joint tenants and the property must have remained unoccupied since the person died.
The exemption can be applied while waiting for probate or letters of administration to be granted and for up to 6 months after the grant. (more…)

Carers may be able to claim a discount if you share your home with someone who is entitled to certain allowances or disablement pension and you care for them for more than 35 hours a week. We cannot award a discount to someone who cares for their husband, wife, partner or son or daughter who is under 18.

If you’re a full-time student nurse, you can apply for a Council Tax discount as a full-time student.
If you’re studying part time on a course leading to an appropriate registration of the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register, you may qualify for a Council Tax discount.
