Independent Living is accommodation for people who are over the age of 60. It is suitable for those who are capable of living on their own but feel more secure with the support of an Independent Living Officer and emergency alarm system.
For added peace of mind our independent living schemes benefits from door entry system and CCTV at the main entrance to the building.
There are also communal facilities, such as a laundry room, a guest room for visiting friends and relatives, plus a communal lounge and kitchen.
How to apply
To apply for Independent Living, you will need to join the Council’s Housing Register
We have various Independent Living accommodation, however, one-bedroom flats are the most common type of properties.

What does it cost?
Rents are similar to normal council rents but a support charge is included which is mainly for the Independent Living Officer and the emergency alarm service.
