The Private Sector Grants Services helps vulnerable residents who are elderly or disabled to:
- Adapt
- Repair
- Improve
- Maintain their homes
The team can also help with home improvements to:
- Prevent hospital admission
- Support discharge from hospital
Applying for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG)
You may be eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) to help with the cost of making adaptations to your home. Watch this video to find out what you need to know.

Find ways to save energy in your home
If you own a property you can get recommendations for home improvements that could make your property cheaper to heat and keep warm.
For each recommendation you can see:
- An estimated cost of making the improvement
- How much you could save on your bills
- Next steps if you want to make the improvement

Handyperson Service
The Council is not operating a Handyperson Scheme at the current time. Residents in privately owned accommodation who are in need of this kind of assistance should contact Voluntary Action Epping Forest on 01992 564256.
