The housing management team finds a new venue for staff base, in Debden.
From Thursday 1 December, members of the Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) housing management team will be based at Oakwood Hill Community Hall.
The new location means residents will continue to have face-to-face housing support once the Debden Cash Office closes on Tuesday 29 November.
This permanent closure comes after the number of residents visiting the cash office was reviewed in 2019 and found to be consistently low. Numbers have dropped further since reopening the office after the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.
Oakwood Hill Community Hall
From December 2022 until June 2023, housing officers will be sharing the hall with partners from Restore Church and Peabody Trust, giving residents the opportunity to access more services in one place.
- Where: Oakwood Hill Community Hall, Longcroft Rise, Loughton IG10 3NB
- When: Every Thursday, from 1 December (may vary over the Christmas period)
- Time: 9.30am to 12.30pm

Building new relationships
Cllr Holly Whitbread, Cabinet Member for Housing and Community said:
I’m so pleased that we can continue to provide a face-to-face housing service for residents in Debden. The housing team has developed important and substantial connections while based at the cash office; this new venue means they can maintain those relationships and build new ones.
