The housing management team finds a new venue for staff base, in Debden.
From Thursday 1 December, members of the Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) housing management team will be based at Oakwood Hill Community Hall.
The new location means residents will continue to have face-to-face housing support once the Debden Cash Office closes on Tuesday 29 November.
This permanent closure comes after the number of residents visiting the cash office was reviewed in 2019 and found to be consistently low. Numbers have dropped further since reopening the office after the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.
Oakwood Hill Community Hall
From December 2022 until June 2023, housing officers will be sharing the hall with partners from Restore Church and Peabody Trust, giving residents the opportunity to access more services in one place.
- Where: Oakwood Hill Community Hall, Longcroft Rise, Loughton IG10 3NB
- When: Every Thursday, from 1 December (may vary over the Christmas period)
- Time: 9.30am to 12.30pm
The housing management team can give housing management support and advice, and signpost customers to other services where necessary.
Qualis Management team offers advice and information about repairs to your home, arrange appointments or answer any queries you have.
Peabody Trust offers short-term support to anyone experiencing issues that impact their health, finances or housing.
The Restore Community Warm Place will provide refreshments, activities and staff on hand for a friendly chat.
Building new relationships
Cllr Holly Whitbread, Cabinet Member for Housing and Community said:
I’m so pleased that we can continue to provide a face-to-face housing service for residents in Debden. The housing team has developed important and substantial connections while based at the cash office; this new venue means they can maintain those relationships and build new ones.
Residents wishing to order communal keys or fob replacements need to order them online.
Residents will be notified by the housing team once their replacement key or fob is ready for collection from the Civic Offices in Epping.
Tenancy agreements and sign ups, previously carried out from the Debden office, will be completed at the time of viewing a property.
Tenants can also access housing management services by:
- Visiting our Civic Office in Epping or the Limes Farm Housing Office at the Limes Centre in Chigwell
- Filling in an enquiry form online
- Calling 01992 564000
