Assets of Community Value
Under the Localism Act 2011, voluntary and community organisations can nominate an asset to be included on a list of assets of community value. We manage this list.
If a landowner wants to sell a registered property, they must tell us. If a group wants to buy the asset, they can trigger a 6 month moratorium to give them a chance to raise the money but the landowner can still at the going market rate.
This period gives community groups some time to develop a proposal and raise the required capital to bid for the property when it comes onto the open market at the end of the moratorium period.

We hold all information on our community assets register.
Current nominations for the inclusion of assets in the list of assets of community value and the register of both successful and unsuccessful nominations. Please note if there are no details under the categories on the register, this means there are no current nominations.
