Roads throughout the district are sectioned into zones for street cleaning. Busier roads are cleaned more regularly than rural roads.

Our grounds maintenance team regularly maintain our green areas within the district.

Weed spraying

Epping Forest District Councils waste contractor carries out weed spraying on behalf of Essex County Council during:

  • April to June
  • August to October

In urban town centres including:

  • Abridge
  • Buckhurst Hill
  • Chigwell
  • Epping
  • Loughton
  • Nazeing
  • North Weald
  • Ongar
  • Roydon
  • Theydon Bois
  • Waltham Abbey

Report an issue with overgrown or invasive weeds to Essex County Council

Epping Forest District Council carries out weed spraying during April to June and August to October. If during this time you need to report overgrown weeds use the link below.

Litter and dog waste bins

To report an overflowing litter or dog waste bin you will need:

  • Your name, address and contact details
  • Location of the bin
  • Bin number
  • Photos or evidence of the problem if you have it

Spillages and emergencies

To report debris from traffic accidents, spillages or highways related emergencies including:

  • Debris from vehicle traffic accidents
  • Liquid or oil spillage
  • Fly tips – blocking access only
  • Street cleansing problems that require immediate attention including hazardous, asbestos, broken glass, spilled lorry load, etc
