Strategic Masterplan Framework

The endorsement of the strategic masterplan framework follows formal consultation with the public and key stakeholders between November 2022 and January 2023 and extensive review and scrutiny by the council, professional team and HGGT partners. Now that the Masterplan has been endorsed, it can be taken into account as an important material consideration in the determination of future planning applications.

Strategic Design Code

The strategic design code builds on the strategic masterplan framework, setting out rules and requirements for the design of the new community that reflect District and Garden Town aims and local aspirations. The design code was produced collaboratively by EFDC and other garden town partners as well as specialist input from Phil Jones Associates transport consultants.

Following public and stakeholder consultation between October and December 2023, the design code was endorsed at EFDC Cabinet in March 2024 and sits alongside the Strategic Masterplan Framework as an important material consideration in the determination of future planning applications.
