Jaymey and fellow volunteers will experience the culture, history and way of life in a vibrant and dynamic country. He will volunteer in a rural village, help build a school or a well and participate in interactive workshops to explore global issues. The 2015 trip to India will take place in August.

A unique, exciting and adventurous experience

A very excited Jaymey said: “I am delighted to have been selected to go on the trip to India with ‘Free The Children’! It will be a unique, exciting and adventurous experience which I am very much looking forward to. I am passionate about global citizenship and I look forward to sharing my experiences when I return and hopefully inspire other young people to take part in similar activities. I am extremely grateful to all who supported my application and of course to Virgin Atlantic for their scholarship.”

Opportunity of a lifetime

Di Butler, Youth Engagement Officer with Epping Forest District Council supported his application and said: “Jaymey is a deserving young person who is actively involved in his local community. This experience will enable him to share his skills with young people who are less fortunate. The experience will certainly be an opportunity of a lifetime.”
