Apply for a new or replacement bin
Apply for a new or replacement:
- black refuse bin
- green-lidded food and garden bin
- blue recycling box for glass
- kitchen caddy (for a new property or new resident only)
- kerbside caddy
The standard size bin for properties in the Epping Forest district is 180 litres. We no longer supply a second food and garden waste bin.
As of 1 April 2024 the following charges will apply for a replacement and new wheeled bins.
- 180 litre bin – £35
- 240 litre bin – £38
- 340 litre bin – £46
If a repair is needed on a wheeled bin, such as the wheels, axle, lugs or lids no charge will apply. Should our contractors arrive on site and the bin is beyond repair you may be charged.
If you want to reduce your bin size capacity you can exchange your 180 litre bin for a 140 litre bin free of charge. You must return your 180 litre bin to us otherwise you will be charged the standard price of the 180 litre bin.
For more information please refer to our wheelie bin charging policy:
The council’s waste contractor will only collect wheeled bins issued by Epping Forest District Council to individual addresses, more information can be found in the Container policy
Apply for a larger bin
We are unable to accept any requests for assessments for larger refuse wheeled bins. We look to reinstate applications in the near future.
For information on what waste goes into each bin see our ‘What goes in each bin‘ page
