Members from the University of the Third Age (U3A) Buckhurst Hill branch enjoyed an informative and educational visit to the Civic Offices in Epping.
Chairman Jeane Lea welcomed the group of 35 to the council chamber. They were given a talk on the council structure, council services and the facilities it manages. The group were thrilled to climb the Civic Offices tower, enjoying the unique view of Epping and the surrounding area.
The U3A is a learning and social co-operative made up of independent groups set up and run on a voluntary basis by its members.
Great to meet them
Chairman Jeane Lea said: “I hope the U3A learnt as much about the council as I learnt about them. It’s certainly a group I will consider joining when I step down from being a councillor. It was great to meet them.”
