Council housing
Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund
We have received funding to install external wall insulation free of charge to selected council homes in the Epping Forest district as part of the governments social housing decarbonisation fund.
Working in partnership with E.ON the free energy-efficient measures will reduce the energy costs for tenants, and provide warmer and more comfortable homes.
Benefits of energy efficient measures
The benefits include:
- Lower energy bills
- A warmer and more comfortable home
- Lowering your homes carbon footprint
- Protecting your home from heat loss
- Improving your property’s appearance and weather proofing
Who will get this improvement?
The free energy efficiency measures are for social and council homes. We will be selecting over 100 homes in the Epping Forest district who we think are most in need of this improvement.
What happens now
We have written to residents whose homes we have chosen to receive free energy efficiency measures. If you have not received a letter from us, please do not contact us as you have not been chosen for this phase.
We will need a phone number to pass to our delivery partner E.ON, who will be carrying out the work. Please contact our resident liaison officer using the contact details in the letter.
Home survey
Our delivery partner E.ON will phone you to arrange a home survey to make sure your home is suitable. They will need access to both the inside and outside of your home. Work cannot be started until a home survey has been completed.
You do not need to change energy supplier to take advantage of this free insulation offer.
How long will it take to have the work done?
This depends on a number of factors. We’ll discuss this with you and keep you updated throughout the installation process.
Check ID
All council and E.ON employees will carry ID. Residents should ask to see their ID before allowing anyone into their home.
Housing repairs
Residents should continue to use the Qualis Property Solutions line for all housing repair queries.
