Second home discount

A second home is defined as not a main home, but is furnished.
Eligibility criteria
The discount for a second home is 5%, meaning that those liable for paying the Council Tax must pay 95% of the full charge. Where second homes are related to a person’s job a 50% discount may apply.

A property which is part of another property (such as an annexe) that is occupied by a relative of the homeowner, and is over the age of 65, severely mentally impaired or disabled to be exempt for Council Tax.
You must provide proof of how the occupier in the annexe is related to you and why they are dependent on you. (more…)

Discount for occupied annexe

You can get a 50% Council Tax discount on an annexe which is lived in by a family member.
Eligibility criteria
The discount is not based on occupation or furniture but on use of the annexe by the resident of the main building or occupation by a family member.
